Downey Symphony Free Concert

The spring performance of the Downey Symphony Orchestra features trumpet soloist Erick Jovel performing Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto. This free concert opens with the internationally-acclaimed Downey Overture by Oscar Navarro, and closes with Schererazade, Op. 35 by Rimsky Korsakov. Doors open at 5:30 pm for the audience to view the exhibit of original artwork by local artists.

The talented and charismatic violinist Strauss Shi returns again, this time to perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major. Music Director Sharon Lavery is pleased to announce the new policy of free evening concerts. Doors open at 5:30 for the preconcert art exhibit on the mezzanine.
