The spring performance of the Downey Symphony Orchestra features trumpet soloist Erick Jovel performing Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto. This free concert opens with the internationally-acclaimed Downey Overture by Oscar Navarro, and closes with Schererazade, Op. 35 by Rimsky Korsakov. Doors open at 5:30 pm for the audience to view the exhibit of original artwork by local artists.

Downey Arts Coalition is presenting the Healers with its all-star blues band (they stole the show at the OC Festival), along with the legendary Mike Malone’s Vibes Combo (very cool Latin jazz). The fabulous Warren High Jazz Choir entertaining us for our December meeting under the direction of Mr. Peterson. We will miss Mr. Peterson when he retires next year, and we hope the choir will continue.
